| Work got cancelled for me today so I'm staying home, working around the house and catching up our projects here. Got to finish organizing behind the barn, clean up the basement and store the bee equipment, cut grass that actually needs it now cause the rain and do some banking also among other things. Stuff lately has been heavily on my mind and I'm praying for the Lord's guidance. Hindsight is always 20/20 but it seems that foresight is never even close. I just wish I was smart enough that the Lord could teach me through his Word rather than me stumble along through the school of hard knocks, then remember what I'm supposed to do. But, I did get a call last night and in July when I go to Colorado, I'll get to stay in the home of a professional nationally published author for over a week! I am so excited about that and thankful that the Lord would send me encouragement that way. Well, gotta go get to work. | | |
| Just finished reading Colditz for like the tenth time. Awsome book on pow's in WWII. I love summer! I can read stuff I enjoy rather than textbooks. Wahooo... anyways Wonderful day Saturday. I milked Maggie, then we all worked in the gardens and ate strawberries as we hoed. Then that afternoon we all went and played tennis for a few hours. I love that game, even though I need some more practice! Then we ate homemade pizza fo dinna and Becky Sue opened her presents, which included some diamond earings from the parents. She's like me and doesn't show much emotion but I know she loved em. Then we ate some desert and I went out and flipped around on the trampoline and layed out through the sunset. Sooooo, thank the Lord summer is very awsome. He's blessed me so much. | | |
| S. Georgia trip went great yesterday but man is it dry dry dry down there, and very smokey as well. Between bee colony collapse, the late frost that decimated GA's fruit and nut crops, and the drought, agriculture in GA is in a bad way. If the crop wasn't irrigated down there, it was twisted and drying up to die. Anyways, got to catch up with the barn guys who I haven't seen in like six months! And I got to see where Neon Bright was buried. Very sad that she died, a stunning horse. But they flushed her and actually have a surrogate mare in foal, already 35 days along, so thats VERY exciting. No more strange occurances with animals lately although I did get smooched by a chestnut mare at the Edward's barn...! OH! I just saw on the net that AKUS are going to be at the Fox in August!!! I so want to go hear em' but don't think its gonna work. We'll see... Other'n that, works good and I got off early today. Did have to change my spare the other day, it had a nice hole in it. | | |
| So the internet is finally fixed around here, even though my laptop is still messed up. And I finally fixed my spare tire that was flat so I feel better now. Been a crazy week but a lot of fun too. I, my parents, and my brother and Anna L. went to the Marrietta Bluegrass Festival last night and it was a heck of a blast. The Larios guys did an awsome job opening the show as the first act and the other bands were terrific too. You gotta love the ole granpa's getting up on stage and cracking jokes and singing songs written in the twenties. It was the best time. And I heard at last from Brian in S. Dakota so that was cool. Just got back from Flick's and Rocky's piano recital at the Chipmans and need to hit it soon cause I gotta milk in the morning. I always stay up to late the night before! Studying at school got me into bad habits... But, Powder Springs is still the same and I still miss Berry peoples. And I stepped on this hugemongo black-rat snake in the pasture at work the other day. Very cool. I've seen more strange creatures lately than normal. Its been odd. Black widows crawling on me, (very scary) snakes, coyotes, hawks nabbing birds five feet from me, skunks under my truck, a possom growling at me, a squirrel falling on me... all so strange. But hey, I reckon I attract strange!! | | |
| So, the internet has been down at our house for almost two weeks now! Been crazy and now I need to do legit stuff like banking!!! Anyways, I'm loving working right now. Bushhogged for eight hours the other day and then spent a couple days fixing up my bees and the bees at work. I'm so pleased cause they're looking good. Went up to Berry today for feed but the place was a Saturday morning graveyard and all my friends are gone anyways right now. I'll harass em later on though... Saw spidey three again with my crazy friends after I met the gang for dinner after a day at Six Flags. I had to work while they played!!! But its good, I love those crazy guys and hope we didn't annoy the other folks at the theatre, cause we laughed so hard at that lame movie!!! Well, Panera Bread is fixin to close so gotta run. | | |
